Supremex Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of high quality stock and custom envelopes with plants located in Markham & Toronto, consulted Lighting Solutions to reduce operational costs through lighting system upgrades.

Through a complete audit, Lighting Solutions determined opportunities existed through lighting upgrades and occupancy sensors in the office and warehouse.  Lighting was upgraded from T12 and HID high bay fixtures to energy efficient T8 fluorescent. The lighting upgrades increased light level by 300% improving visibility. In areas of periodic use, for example offices, storage areas and warehouse racks, occupancy sensors were installed to reduce overall energy consumption.

Supremex’s  97,653 sq. ft. Toronto plant saved over 98kW, an energy savings of 72%, resulting in $76,000 in cash savings per year. On behalf of Supremex Inc., Lighting Solutions was able to secure an incentive from the BOMA CDM program which covered 38% of the total project cost.
