Port Royal Place

Port Royal Place is a two-tower multi-residential condominium in Toronto.  The condominium board & Del Property Management worked with Lighting Solutions to determine opportunities to reduce energy costs through lighting upgrades.

Lighting Solutions prepared a complete lighting audit assessing each of the 12 floors per tower, the parking garage and exterior lighting.  The lighting audit results indicated that the parking garage at Port Royal Place provided the best opportunities to save money.

Lighting Solutions upgraded the lighting in the parking garage from T12 HO fluorescent tubes to T8 Fluorescent tubes with electronic ballasts.

Port Royal Place’s lighting upgrades with Lighting Solutions saved over 85kW; a 77% energy savings resulting in $79,000 in cash savings per year. On behalf of Port Royal Place, Lighting Solutions was able to secure an incentive from the City of Toronto Better Buildings Partnership which covered 30% of the total project cost.

Through energy savings and the incentive, Port Royal Place recovered their costs for the lighting upgrades in under 9 months; a return on investment of 135%!
